CurrentElectrical engineering services specializing in computer-based instrumentation and automation. Focus on integration of NI-based hardware and development of customized LabVIEW software for diverse sectors including alternative energy, aerospace, defense, R&D, and industrial instrumentation.Recent projects include:• Ongoing support of manufacturing/R&D test stands for PEM fuel cell power plants. Systems encompass distributed, high-speed, high channel count process control, automation, and data acquisition. Interfacing and coordination of multiple gasses, coolant flows, high-current load banks, mass-flow controllers, Coriolis meters, and multiple safety interlocks, within a Class 1 Div 1 environment.• Distributed control platform for industrial hygrometric/psychrometric R&D facility. Extensive sensor, control, and software integration of heat exchangers, humidification, cooling towers, VFD's, and multiple-horsepower pumps. • Endurance test rig for cycle-testing Supplemental Cooling Unit (SCU) for new commercial aircraft. Built around NI cRIO hardware for high-speed data acquisition, control, and logging, while simulating balance of aircraft systems via FPGA CAN interface. Facility interfacing controlled auxiliary steam heating and glycol cooling control loops.• Commercial control platform for medical laser system. NI sbRIO platform integrated RT code and FPGA logic to realize state-based sequences, safety interlocks, and high-speed PWM to drive laser.• Control system for experimental shrouded wind turbine, including web interface for remote monitoring/control.• Production test system for electronic initiators for commercial manned space capsule. Customized scripting module enabled customer to modify test process without need for reprogramming.• Instrumentation for magnetic wire rope inspection system, accommodating a range of sensor heads to inspect cables up to 150 mm diameter, employing proprietary DSP strategies to provide best-in-class accuracy.
