Provide support and professional development for all Social Studies teacher in QACPS.

I am current a public school teacher. At my school I have taught Honors American and regular American history. I am currently teaching AP World, regular World history and AP Human Geography. I have helped to develop curriculum for World History as well as American history and Government. I have also attended the governors academy for government. I also have attended the Teacher Effectiveness academy in 2013 to help me embrace the new standards of College and Career readiness. My duties within the classroom include structuring lessons that are meaningful and rigorous for all students. I also have to manage my classroom and time with great precision so that I am able to make sure that all standards are met and that we reach the needs of the course and the students. I would like to obtain a position where I can expand my experience and skills. I have experience in working with people and possess leadership skills that allow me to connect with and lead those around me. I have also trained teachers in Smart technologies and online classrooms such as Edmodo and Schoology. I am able to use all Microsoft office programs as well as online programs that involve google, skype, etc. I was also recently selected to showcase our school’s technology to our State Senator and Governor.

I helped to open up our advanced placement courses to all students as well as reflect on data collected from students to help encourage them to join higher-level courses and expand their community at school so that they feel empowered and safe to take on challenges.

Because of this training I am also the leader of the Disciplinary Literacy strand for professional development.

I am currently part of the Environmental Literacy for our county were we are preparing to meet the new E. Lit. standards.

Every fall I coach the JV field hockey team with great success.

PBIS (Positive Behavior Incentives and Supports) team. Analyzed data to make informed decisions about what should happen in regards to disciplinary practices at our school.
