My name is Lacey Wind, also known as Blue Wind Woman of the Northern Cheyenne Nation. As the Director of Public Health Policy and Programs at the National Indian Health Board, I lead efforts in executive leadership, program development, workforce pipeline building, and strategic planning to advance equitable healthcare policies and culturally centered health initiatives for Tribal communities. With a background as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I have directed integrated behavioral health and Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) programs, developed a workforce pipeline for Licensed Addiction Counselors, and mentored MSW students as a field supervisor and adjunct professor.My leadership experience includes overseeing behavioral health programs at Tribal and rural healthcare organizations, providing technical assistance to healthcare facilities nationwide, and designing initiatives that integrate Indigenous healthcare practices. I specialize in program development, strategic planning, and fostering health equity through innovative, culturally informed approaches. My career reflects a lifelong dedication to advocacy, mentorship, and strengthening the health and resilience of Native communities.
