My current degree is concerned climates and their interplay with ecological, social, and economic systems. This has generated a lot of interest for me as it has breathed insight into the many factors at play in our environment. The impact climate has on these systems is fascinating and I enjoy learning about all aspects of the natural world and its role in modern society. I am an aspiring scientist undertaking a Bachelors of Climate Science and Adaptation and I have a love for our natural world and wish to see it conserved as much as possible. My current experience with scientific work has taught me about the microstructures and biological makeup of organisms and how these interplay with their habitats. The practical aspects of my studies taught me how to use tools relevant to lab and field work. So far at university I have broadened my knowledge by undertaking field studies such as taking weather readings in coastal environments, studying wetland biomes at the Shortland wetlands centre, and applying these tools and knowledge in a lab environment. I have developed skills in geology through the study of several geological science courses and have developed competency on using computer imaging software to identify rock samples based on criteria for their identification. In the future I hope to specialise to understand the biological effect climate change has on organisms and develop with management strategies for their conservation.#studyingSCIE2001 #BsCUoN
