I am the Financial Engineering Lead at Mycelium.Within my position, I have co-designed the following financial contract designs:Mycelium's Perpetual Swaps: Perpetual Swaps are in effect a future which has no expiry, and never marks-to-market. In maintains its peg to the spot price by a continuous funding rate between counterparties in the case when prices diverge. This concept was first ideated by Robert Schiller in the 90s, however was first created by Bitmex in 2016.What's novel about Mycelium's Perpetual Swap is that: i) it uses a reverse dutch auction mechanism for liquidations; ii) it has market-specific insurance funds; iii) the insurance fund is open to users to deposit, and earn the insurance fees paid by leveraged traders; iv) it's a composable market template which can track any asset. Mycelium's Perpetual Pools: The problem with LETFs, and many leveraged tokens, is that they require holding the underlying asset and having debt, too. This makes rebalancing expensive and has the spectre of liquidation and bankruptcy hovering as a risk possibility. Perpetual Pools is a mechanism whereby leveraged tokens can be created via ownership over a pool of collateral, where the value transfer simulates the exposure of a leveraged token – without liquidation, slippage, or transaction fees (as the instruments aren't required to hold the underlying!). One can create an instrument that appreciates as per any arbitrary set of rules.
