As a civil engineer by trade, I have been involved and led multiple infrastructure projects with multi-billion-dollar budgets across Europe and Australia. It is safe to say that I have seen the very best of construction, as well as the common denominator of them all – inefficiency. Perceiving myself as a maverick, I enjoy solving real-world problems through systems and challenging the status quo. My resume is a testament to that, becoming an entrepreneur and founding my first con-tech company Glaass at the early age of 23 whilst managing the ins and outs of billion-dollar infrastructure projects. Before Glaass, construction sites used paper, spreadsheets, email and shared drives to document inspections, incidents, requests and reports, ultimately leading to miscommunication, misunderstandings and inefficiencies which created delays, financial variations and insurance claims. Being tech-savvy by nature, and with a passion for innovation and digital systems, I had the goal to offload industry repetitive, mistake-prone, expensive, analogue tasks. This, in combination with my years of on-site experience, helped me identify what was needed:An adaptable construction management platform, based on Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform, meticulously designed by engineers for engineers, that was customisable and adaptable to individual project needs. A system that would eradicate endless hours documenting, uploading, organising and sharing paper-based forms, whilst simultaneously empowering workers on-site, to assure precise data collection for full documentation of any given project. Now years later, we are the vendor of choice for dozens of the most renowned construction companies in the world, with our ever-evolving QSHE system, Glaass, which can be modularly tailored to the exact needs and budget of your project, making us the number 1 pick, for any size and budget, hence our system is figuratively perceived as “one size fits all.” This section is “About me” from a career perspective, although not much was mentioned directly about my career or personality, the reader of this piece should derive the obvious written between the lines – determined, disciplined and methodical.
