Dr. Lacie B. Lee was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana. She has always had a special love for animals, especially cats, and realized at a very young age she would pursue a career in veterinary medicine.Graduating from LSU Veterinary School, Dr. Lacie has achieved over 20 years of companion animal private practice experience. She is the sole owner of Cat Care Center of Baton Rouge, overseeing design, development, construction, and all aspects of starting and running a small animal veterinary hospital with various specialty capabilities. Dr. Lacie holds multiple certificates in advanced feline medicine, surgery, and behavior. Currently, she is pursuing her feline medicine board certification with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners.Dr. Lacie Lee is recognized as a Rising Leader by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). She actively participates as a member of the AAFP Student Engagement Committee, whose purpose is to bridge the gap between veterinary students and professionals as they enter this great profession. Additionally, she serves as an appointed member of the AAFP Guidelines Committee, dedicated to promoting feline veterinary guidelines, improving standards of care, and advocating evidence-based best practices. Dr. Lacie has also recently accepted a term as an intern for the AAFP Board of Directors for the 2024-2025 term.She is a dedicated member of various other professional associations as well, including the International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM), Cornell Feline Health Center, American Association of Veterinary Medicine (AVMA), Veterinary Cancer Society (VCS), Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association (LVMA), Baton Rouge Area Veterinary Medical Association (BRAVMA), The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) and the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management (IVAPM).Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Lacie volunteers and participates in community activities with organizations such as Cat Haven, Companion Animal Alliance, and The Gardere Initiative. Dr. Lacie is committed to educational outreach, regularly organizing complimentary events at Cat Care Center, including veterinary student learning days, support groups, educational talks, seminars tailored for shelter staff, and various other informative sessions aimed at fostering community engagement and promoting feline welfare.
