Current• Performs exceptional post-operative nursing care and diligently monitors for post-surgical complications • Utilizes time management principles to coordinate and manage care of clients on a 5:1 nurse to patient ratio basis• Uses critical-thinking skills and the nursing process to aid in clinical decision-making• Uses leadership and management strategies to deliver safe, timely, and quality nursing care • Demonstrates autonomy, initiative, and accountability in nursing practice; actively seeks learning opportunities • Manages patient's personalized equipment including chest tubes, Jackson-Pratt and Hemovac drains, tracheostomies, PEG tubes and more; titrates PCAs and various drips based on physician orders• Appropriately delegates to CNAs and supervises care provided; consistently communicates with CNAs throughout shift in order to update plan of care and goals for patient care • Individualizes plan of care and performs and documents education provided to each client in Epic; applies principles of teaching to meet the unique learning needs of clients and families• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, surgeons, case managers, dietitians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists to provide ongoing care of client • Demonstrates safe clinical practice consistent with agency guidelines and professional standards of care and acts as a patient and family advocate
