The Director of Student Activities, in collaboration with the Dean of Students Office, designs and implements a rigorous set of activities for students to engage in on the weekends and over some breaks. In keeping with the mission of the DOS, these activities will work to support the development of a thriving campus community, be student-centered and student-driven, be creative and differentiated, and support the larger vision and mission of The Gunnery through deliberative collaboration and support of the outdoor program and community service. The Director of Student Activities will be a part of regular DOS meetings to review upcoming events, evaluate past events, and collaborate on upcoming residential programming, including and not limited to Community Weekends and Class Trips. This position also has responsibility for planning annual events such as the Orientation Games, the opening Saturday night all-school event, Clash of the Colors, the Semi-Formal Dance, the Prom, Spring Carnival, and other full community events as needed.In addition, this position will lead regular meetings of the Student Activity Committee and collaborate with the Alumni & Development office to support initiatives led by parents, including, but not limited to, dorm dinners, exam goody bags, and other initiatives. The person in this position will also focus on specialized outreach and programming for day students and their families.
