Trigrow Systems utilizes vertical indoor farming technology to grow a variety of crops profitably and at scale. In my role I manage the software development team, handle the entirety of the Development, IT, and Support needs of the company.ROLES:* Manage a distributed software team of front-end developers* Project/Task Management with development team and business users in Trello* Designed and implemented development infrastructure using AWS S3, CORS, Vue.js, AWS CloudFront* Designed database schema in MySQL on AWS RDS for support of Indoor Farming Application* Wrote/maintained entire JSON API backend in CFML to support redesigned front-end in Vue.js* Wrote entire prototype application (frontend and backend) that integrates the IoT Beaglebone Controllers with the web management interface. Application handles device management (irrigation control and scheduling, light control and scheduling, etc), real-time inventory control (plant tracking, container tracking, location tracking), crop lifecycle management, notifications, alerts, and historical data collection and analysis, etc. * Managed multiple git repositories using BitBucket and AWS CodeCommit* Managed continuous integration process for deployments using CircleCI* Handled all internal support requests via corporate Slack* Used AWS ElasticBeanstalk (ELB), RDS, CodeCommit, EC2 in a VPC.* Used Cisco Meraki managed network at multiple facilities.* Handled deployments/updates of Java IoT clients to distributed Beaglebone clients* Troubleshooted and extended Java IoT Beaglebone application. Application ran on Beaglebone computers deployed in shipping containers and warehouses, handled the distributed local control and monitoring of the indoor farming environments, communicated to the backend api to control devices, report real-time device state and environmental conditions, and receive configuration updates.

DevX.com was acquired by the JupiterMedia Corporation, which subsequently changed it’s name to WebMediaBrands. I was transitioned to the new company and promoted to Senior Software Engineer in charge of all ColdFusion sites. In this position I was team lead of 3 developers. We successfully migrated the CF CMS to OpenBD and extended it to support multiple sites.

Developed www.DevX.com with 5 other ColdFusion developers. Built a custom, content-driven ColdFusion and MS SQL CMS with a high-availability front-end. Worked with CFML, JavaScript, HTML, PERL, CGI, Awk, and Sed. Managed and maintained development environment of Apache with Mod-SSL, ColdFusion Server, and Oracle running on RedHat Linux. Used CVS (Concurrent Version System) for source code control.

Responsible for managing entire Unix network. Created BASH shell scripts and Perl scripts to automate tasks, maintained NFSand VTUN across Solaris, FreeBSD, and Linux (RedHat) boxes. Coordinated with developers on Teamtoolz application architecture. Maintained Teamtoolz codebase using CVS, including tagging, branching, and merging development branches. Deployed software into development, QA, and production environments. Maintained TCP/IP connectivity between San Francisco and San Jose co-location site. Used MRTG for traffic analysis and monitoring across the enterprise. Installed and maintained Linux, Apache, OpenSSL, ColdFusion, Java, Oracle. Utilized WebMin, CVSWEB and other tools.
