Here is my story so far: I have always been fascinated by the collision of cultures, identities and experiences, and how our differences can enrich each other. While for most people the unknown may be synonymous with fear, for me it has always meant possibilities. Together with 2 siblings, a few cats and dogs, there was always a foreign exchange student in the house I grew up in. It naturally made me want to travel when I was old enough to do it by myself. But I wanted to travel with a purpose. This is how I learnt Japanese in Tokyo, got involved in the music industry in New Orleans, studied experience design in Denmark, etc. When the earthquake struck Japan in 2011, causing not only great damages to the country but also its isolation from the world because of the fear of radioactivity, I felt the urge to help in any way I could, through disaster-relief related art projects, translation projects aiming at promoting Japan, and what became my profession later, through my contribution to the travel industry.My accomplishments in the travel business with Japan Experience have included develop and manage a park of about 10 rental houses and apartments in Tokyo, find and contract Japanese partners such as Nissan Rent-a-Car, JR, Pasmo, JAF, etc., set up and manage an inland operation team, and build a catalog of about 150 activities. May it be art, team management, or the design of life-changing travels, the secret key to succeeding is empathy and meaning creation. I hope to continue to allocate my brain power to the act of making the world smaller and kinder.
