The Secondary Cities Initiative utilizes field-based data to inform city resilience, human security, and emergency preparedness. Specifically, I researched the ability of urban springs to meet potable water needs of Kharkiv, Ukraine to discover 70% of the citizens are able to be supported and revealed the importance of jurisdictional boundaries approved by local experts in understanding urban sprawl. Additionally, I led interns in data and metadata creation and management and analyzed data and presented on methods for increased urban sustainability. Producing the summary documents and reviewing products require excellent knowledge of Microsoft products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Publisher. Additionally, I analysis pavement condition data to assist with decision making regarding transportation funding and pavement project choices. I also analysis state funds to forecast revenues for the roads. Both pavement and revenue work require various use of ESRI ArcGIS products depending on the request.
