Life is a journey, and at every step, you’ll be faced with choices that determine who you are when you reach your destination. Like many of you, my journey also began with a choice. It was in 2009 when I was first approached with an opportunity to start a new career in real estate. I remember like it was yesterday; I was a 29-year-old, single, recently divorced mother living on state assistance and trying like hell to make ends meet. I won’t bore you with the details, but this was the first time I recognized my ADHD impulses I had been living with my entire life would soon lead to my attention to detail becoming my new superpower. Even with the deck stacked against me, I played my hand. This is part of my story where I tell you my bold choices led me to reach my goals in record time, propelling me to become the best real estate agent in WI, but I would be full of shit. In reality, the economy was still correcting from the real estate crash with the government bailing out the mortgage industry. Each of us has faced adversity for the choices we’ve made in our life's journey. Simply put, this was the perfect time to double down on my efforts.I started attacking the market by looking for certifications other agents didn’t have stacked in their decks. First, I focused on clients trying to purchase their first home and obtained my ABR designation. This gave me the knowledge and expertise to represent my clients throughout their real estate purchases. Next, I didn’t want to leave those selling their home out; as that can be just as challenging for people, so I became an SRS. This elevated my standards, which I placed on every sales transaction to help me enhance my sales performance every year. There are a couple of things near my heart. I am particularly proud of the work in implementing a Self-Care and Personal Development Series in the WRA. I also want to thank the AHEOC for giving me my first shot, your minority scholarship helped pave my way. A real estate transaction is a large life decision, more like a journey than a quick moment.
