Laia Bee is the co-founder of Pincer Games, a small indie studio from Punta del Este, selected by Google for the first edition of the Latam Indie Games accelerator. Their game Fighters of Fate has been awarded as the best videogame in the Uruguayan Awards and was one of the recipients of the Google Indie Fund.Since 2016, she has been actively helping the indie ecosystem in Uruguay through CAVI where she has been part of the board and president for 2 years.She has a key role in connecting governmental institutions to help develop the industry through opportunities for companies and indie studios.She's part of the Game Awards Future Class selected as one of the bold and bright individuals from the industry and organizes #1reasontobe, one of the most iconic diversity panels from GDC formerly led by Brenda Romero, Leigh Alexandre, and Rami Ismail.Laia also helps to coordinate the Latam Video Games Federation and founded the 120 scholarships for Latam devs to attend GDC.
