About Laila Stein

Hello! My name is Laila and I am a Flight Operations Specialist at the National Business Aviation Association along with serving as the Director of Data and Research for the Pilot Mental Health Campaign.While attending Western Michigan University’s College of Aviation, I developed a passion for researching and advocating for the betterment of all folks within the aviation industry, specifically those with safety-sensitive functions. Over the course of my professional and collegiate careers, I have been involved in a number of organizations that have supported these efforts. As a passionate advocate within this space, I've leveraged my voice to champion aviation safety reform from Capitol Hill to the board room of the NTSB. Earlier this year, my research on collegiate aviators was presented to, and cited by, the FAA Aviation Rulemaking Committee on Mental Health and Aviation Medical Clearances.
