head of EU law implementation coordination unit (career civil servant) (3 people), which was responsible for coordination and supervision of EU law implementation on a national level. This included consulting ministries and other governmental institutions on planning of EU law transposition/implementation, evalutating prepared plans and supervising their execution (~2000 per year), creating reports and identifying risks/priorities, working with other institutions, the Government and the Parliament committees, responsible for EU affairs.Responsibilities included:• organization and supervision of the activities of the unit,• problem solving and mediation in case of conflicts between different institutions, • process optimization: preparation of propositions and drafting of legal acts to improve national EU law implementation procedures,• coordination of EU law infringement procedures on a national level,• preparation of legal opinions on conformity of drafts of national legal acts and EU law, • evaluation of the responses to the infringement procedures or the European Commission inquiries on implementation of EU law,• preparation of procedural documents submitted to the Court of Justice of the EU,• analyzing data and tendencies, preparing reports and information on a situation of EU law impelementation on a national level, • sharing expertise and helping same level specialists on EU level, and other.
