About Lain Guio

I am currently responsible for the administration department and also manage the production and distribution of our products.Scientific researcher, focusing on Evolution, Population Genetics and Molecular Biology. I lead research projects for genome-wide studies to understand the role of transposable elements in adaptation to new environments.In addition to my scientific skills, I spent 10 years working in the Export Sales Department of a Laboratory equipment company (private sector).

    I started my research project with the characterization of the adaptive transposable element Bari-Jheh in Drosophila melanogaster. I learn bench techniques, molecular biology protocols and specific protocols for Drosophila melanogaster. I work daily with this organism and I manage hundred of stocks. Currently I am leading a big project to obtain samples for RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, Nexus ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq and Hi-C. We are in the set up stage fixing protocols according with the specific strains we are using to obtain the maximum yield and quality of the samples. In a second step we will process and analyze the data and I will also be involved in this part of the project.
