A large part of my role also included promoting the journal and engaging with readers on the Millennium Film Journal Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Assisted the programs and outreach librarians with their projects. These projects included processing library cards, organizing and preparing crafts, and shelving. I also assisted with weekly trips to in-area senior homes and monthly trips to give donated books to the Santa Cruz County Jail. In addition to this, I and a partner produced a film for the Outreach program, in collaboration with the Palo Alto Medical Association, to promote literacy.

In my freshman year at UCSC, I produced four productions with a student-run company called 4th Hallway. It was a strenuous job, but worth it in the end when all the short films were shown and submitted to festivals. I was responsible for all aspects of production including researching scripts, props, locations, and casting. I ran the successful execution of the production from end to end. Worked as a Lawrence Bender Productions intern for a period of three months. My responsibilities were to answer phones, cover scripts, run business errands, handle office email and assist the producer’s personal and executive assistants.

I did odds and ends for every department including Finance, Business Admin, Publicity, Distribution, etc. Sharpened skills in all Microsoft programs, fax/copying, filing and working at a fast pace with immediate deadlines.

My responsibilities are everything from making coffee to managing accounts. I organize company trips and assign office responsibilities. I also work on monitoring accounts, blogger outreach, and write Tweets and blog posts for the Smarter Social Media website.

For over 12 months, I worked in a restaurant in Marina Del Rey taking orders, serving food and processing payments. I was also in charge of closing the restaurant, which meant balancing the register nightly, cleaning up all tables and restocking all items to make sure the restaurant was ready for the next day’s patrons. I was one of their most valued employees. References available upon request.

I worked with children ages 5 - 7 over one summer. Mostly, I played with them and kept them safe while they were on the beach or in the water. I taught the kids how to boogie board and be safe at the beach. (It was so much fun!)
