Sustainability, diversity and art are the pillars that have anchored my personal and professional life. I currently work as Pontes’ Chief Sustainability Officer. The company is headquartered in Ceará, Brazil. It is the industry leader in the sustainable and socially responsible processing, refining and trading of high quality Carnauba wax, product from a plant native to northeastern Brazil. We believe passionately in the protection and advancement of the human rights of workers in the Carnauba community, as well as in nurturing transformation and economic development for that community. In addition, we make extensive efforts to protect the environment and strengthen natural resource management.Also, I am the director of the Institute Pontes para o Crescimento (Bridges for Growth). Through the institute we promote initiatives designed to protect and advance the human rights and living standards of rural communities, to strengthen equality, and to encourage the sustainable development of rural communities of the region. The Institute Pontes para o Crescimento also focuses on support and protection of the Caatinga, a unique Brazilian biome. We intensively invest in reforestation of degraded areas and scientific researches in order to protect our biodiversity.
