Senior Director Of Postal OperationsEmirates Post Group Jul 2019 - Dec 2019Dubai, Ramool, AeI was parachuted-in to implement operational excellence in the postal services business division by sharing and replicating the success story of the courier division.Successes included, amongst others, reducing team size and increasing its efficiency without an effect on service delivery, and realising a great improvement in the staff motivation levels and middle management capabilities. In addition to the replication of what I had achieved in the courier division, I identified a realistic opportunity and built a compelling business case for a further gain in efficiency and cost-reduction by merging the postal and courier divisions of the business, which was approved by the Senior Executive Team and resulted in my promotion to lead the merger. -
Director Of Courier OperationsEmirates Post Group Nov 2017 - Jun 2019Dubai, Ramool, AeI was headhunted to transform operations of the courier services business division with an aim to improve operational agility and increase profitability.I worked in close collaboration with the new Senior Leadership Team to achieve the objective while overseeing the operations of 500+ staff and 500+ vehicles.I adopted transformational leadership style and executed a series of improvement initiatives which resulted in an increase in both staff morale and engagement; a change in internal culture; a significant improvement in resource and route planning; a boost in efficiency; a 10% reduction in the cost per shipment, and most significantly, in the establishment of modern, ‘fit-for-purpose’ operations with a lean structure and well-aligned, optimised processes and resources.As a result, I saved a couple of million AED in costs for the business while at the same time achieving a significant increase in productivity and customer satisfaction rates.I also boosted the division’s overall operational capacity and ensured its capability to facilitate business expansion and diversification into the e-commerce segment, resulting in the achievement of an on-time delivery rate of 92% that exceeded the industry average. -
