From the depths of the 2008 financial crisis, in which 8ninths started, the company grew to be a profitable business that flourished with award-winning innovations and a beloved client base.

Lolligift focused on the $1B+ gift card market by integrating payments with crowdfunding technology during the pre-Kickstarter period. Utilizing payments technology such as Stripe, PayPal, and Braintree to collect funds, Lolligift allows creation of gift pools which dispense the funds via stored valued gift cards, the product was developed and released in three months and achieved early market success.

I spent a wonderful span of thirteen years at Microsoft, learning and working with some of the best technical minds in the business.My most impactful work came from two teams that I helped start. First, I served in a key role in architecting the MSN Messenger service, one of the earliest cloud-based services of the time. It grew to be the largest Instant Messaging service in the world for the pre-Mobile era. I defined and clarified the architecture via simulation of the system design by constructing a complex mathematical model. When the initial development team failed to launch the service after a two-year delay, I took over the development team and launched the service within six months. For its work, the team was recognized as one of the Legendary Development Teams of Microsoft.Following on the heels of Messenger, I helped found an Alert service with a focus on monetizing the sizable Messenger user base. Again I led the team in creating the technical concept, but in addition, I also took on the challenge of defining the business model. I was deeply involved in the business development of partnerships with eBay, CitiBank, MSNBC, and other large consumer brands. The Alert service served as a cornerstone of the Microsoft web offering during the 2000's, inspiring competitors such as Google Alerts.
