About Albanian Forum Of Shkodra Lake [Ngo]

The Albanian Shkodra Lake FORUM - (FSLS) is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization with a mission to assist and provide environmental issues in the NATIONAL, LOCAL and/or REGIONAL level. OUR MISSION fulfills by promoting, ENHANCING & STRENGTHENING cooperation among non-governmental organizations, governments, businesses and other environmental stakeholders, and BY ADDRESSING & SUPPORTING ACTIONS, free exchange of information and public participation in environmental decision-making PROCESSES.The Albanian Shkodra Lake FORUM was established in 2001 by the Stability Pact Project (SWISS COOPERATION SUPPORTED - SDC) “Trans-boundary Cooperation through the management of Shared Natural Resources”. FSLS aimed to act as a neutral platform body for the negotiation and cooperation between countries shared natural resources (Albania & Montenegro) FROM 2007, Albanian Shkodra Lake FORUM is legally registered based on a Albanian legal proceedings. The head office is located in SHKODRA CITY. The aim of our program is to address the following topics: public awareness; environmental education and Information; wise use of natural resources; biodiversity conservation; planning and management; public participation; concrete actions etc.

Albanian Shkodra Lake FORUM is member of Transboundary Shkodra/Skadar Lake FORUM in Montenegro with a representative office in Albania, Shkodra City since 2007. This organization is a regional network of bilateral nature conservation experts. FSLS is member of different networks in national, regional and international level.Albanian Shkodra Lake FORUM, builds the platforms for communities, civil society organizations, and interested targets through addressing environmental issues in national and regional level. FSLS fulfill its mission through networking, addressing, advocating, monitoring and cooperation with environmental institutions in local, national and international level, Civil Society Organizations as well as interested stakeholders in the field of environment.FSLS promotes public participation and exchange best management practices in the field of environmental protection and conservation. FSLS has over ten years of experience combining knowledge with innovative tools and techniques to build sustainable capacities.
