President and CEO. The association has a membership of approximately 300 companies with an estimated 15,000 employees in manufacturing and support services across Northeast Florida. FCMA was established to represent manufacturers in policy, training, business networking, emerging issues and economic opportunity. I led the transition of the association following twenty years the previous president’s tenure of leadership in FCMA. Responsibilities include oversight of administration, staff procedures, budgets, increasing public awareness, policy development and membership committees

South Atlantic Regional Manager. In the role of Vice President of a 7000 employee United Kingdom based company my responsibilities included managing maritime engineering projects and staff from North and West Florida to North Carolina. The staff consisted of 28 design professionals with projects involving multiple engineering and consulting firms. Office budgets exceeded $4MM annually representing a local office increase over four times greater than the company’s previous year of operation. Project construction values exceeded $220MM during the employment time. Projects included container terminals, ro-ro terminal expansions, bulkhead rehabilitations, life cycle assessments, mooring and dock analysis, dredge spoil management, transportation planning and analysis, expert testimony and environmental permitting.

Principal and CEO (1993 to 2001). The Jacksonville-based company was established in 1960 with a design specialty in maritime projects. The firm provided consulting services in some capacity for almost all of the industrial operators on the St. Johns River. The range of engineering services included container terminals, wharfs, piers, ship berth and moorings, dredge projects, dry bulk terminals, liquid petroleum and chemical bulk terminals, barge terminals, marinas, railroad, industrial parks, roadways, water services, life cycle analysis, construction management, Development of Regional Impact (DRI) studies, commercial and residential developments, and environmental permitting. I began with responsibilities as a design engineer, advanced to senior engineer and eventually to principal CEO. The staff grew varying in size from 18 to 25 and increased revenues by over fifty percent. The company merged with Berryman and Henigar in 2001, forming a nationwide company of about 500 employees. I assumed the role of senior vice president and director of maritime services in 2001. The firm designed and managed projects from Massachusetts along the coastline to Houston, Texas, across Florida and the southeast states, the Caribbean and Gujarat, India. The company sold in 2003, and subsequently Harbor Civil Services was opened, providing the same range of services.
