Professor Lakshman Samaranayake Hon DSc, BDS, DDS (Glas), FRCPath (UK), FDS RCPS, FDSRCSE (Hon), FRACDS (Gen Dent), FCDSHK, FHKCPath, FHKAM (Pathol & Dent Surg.)Multi-talented academic (h index 89) with a prolific research output (more than 400 ISI articles and 26000 citations) and exceptional administrative experience as a Dean of two major Schools of Dentistry in Australia, and Hong Kong. The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Hong Kong, where he was the Dean for a decade (2004-2013) is now ranked as the top (No 1) school of Dentistry in the World as per the 2016 QS World University Rankings. Having published more than 300 articles on the subject, he is also considered the foremost international expert in oral candidiasis by BiomedExperts.com.He is also an Honorary Professor at the Eastman Dental Institute, London and many other international universities including China, Saudi Arabia, India, Oman and Indonesia. Professor Samaranayake earned his BDS from the University of Peradeniya and received his doctoral degree at the University of Glasgow, UK where he was a Consultant/ Senior Lecturer in Oral Medicine and Pathology. Then he served as a Professor at the University of Alberta, Canada, University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong and University of Queensland, Australia. Currently, he is serving as a Professor in Kuwait University.
