With three decades of experience in teaching English Language and Literature, Prof. Dr. Lakshmi Muthukumar is a fiction writer, translator and academic. A research supervisor at both the SIES Research Centre in English as well as the University of Mumbai, she has guided research scholars at institutions affiliated to the University of Mumbai for over a decade and has taught courses in British, American and Indian English Literature, Grammar, Art of Writing, Communication Skills in English and Business Communication. She has designed syllabi for various courses that she has taught at both the UG and PG level. Her research interests include Creative writing, Grammar studies, Language studies, Gender studies, Disability studies and Comparative literature. A Core Member of the Internal Quality Assurance Committee, she is skilled at editing, writing analytical reports, thesis adjudication and review, conducting workshops in soft skills, spoken English, English grammar, vocabulary, writing self study reports for institutions with over 4000 students, qualitative and quantitative overviews of institutional curricular development for 52 programs that include UG, PG and Ph.D.
