Desert is an award-winning youth activist and development practitioner with more than 5 years of experience. Laone holds vast experience in sustainable community mobilization, program design, and implementation. She is the Executive Director of Young Minds Africa, an NGO that advocates for inclusive and sustainable youth economic development. Desert holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences and currently doing her Masters in Development Practice. Laone is an alumnus of several international youth leadership programs; the Young African Leaders Initiative, the Kectil Leadership Programme, and the Study of the United States Institutes. In 2018, Ms. Desert received an award for Best Youth Activist: In Social Issues for her relentless contribution to addressing and confronting youth unemployment in the country through her work at Young Minds Africa.
