'Save La La Land' is a long term Ancient Woodland Restoration project to save one of the South of England's largest and last surviving Ancient Woodlands from ecological disaster due to Invasive Species; Rhododendron Ponticum's have consumed almost 40% of this 150 acre woodland which is incredibly located within the M25.The woodland has been unmaintained since the end of WWII, leading to an array of Fungi and Wildlife. Having almost exclusive access to this beautiful woodland I am tasked with assembling a team of experts and enthusiasts from leading ecological and nature organisations, specialist wildlife photographers amongst others with the long term goal of developing a sustainable Rhododendron management plan and to officially get La La land recognised as a site of special scientific interest and registered as an Ancient Woodland. If action is not taken now the Rhododendrons will continue to spread aggressively and we have calculated that with the next 20 years 70% of this incredible woodland will be directly affected resulting in a complete breakdown of the native species habitat leading to an ecological disaster.'Save La La Land' is the ONLY organisation endeavouring to protect the incredible heritage. However in recent years the project has come under threat due to the our Local Planning Authorities actions. This has led to us setting up a campaign to stop their abuse of power which if we submit to there demands would ultimately contribute to the collapse of a whole ecosystem. The LPA's actions have driven us to set up the #SaveLaLaLand campaign. This is the most recent evolution of this exciting long term project which is being spearheaded from my family woodland.
