The Chief Architect role brought together skills developed in all previous positions, requiring command of a broad base of IT knowledge, and the ability to forge strong relationships and achieve results through others, often without direct authority.* Led Enterprise Architecture organization responsible for translating business and IT strategy into a long-term integrated enterprise target architecture that enables speed, agility, end-to-end business solutions, and complexity reduction. Delivered first integrated Enterprise Target Architecture, strategies for cloud computing and mobility, and repeatable, sustainable processes for architecture planning and governance.* Gained IT executive commitment to Enterprise Architecture direction, shaping direction of critical IT programs.* Recruited and motivated a team of seasoned technical professionals located in several countries around the world.

In this position I moved from a business-facing role focused on relationships, to a centralized corporate position responsible for delivering service to all DuPont employees.* I created and led an organization charged with improving individual and group productivity through personal computing and collaboration technologies representing $100M in annual spending. Responsible for setting global strategy, driving standardization and simplification, and delivering solutions aligned with strategic goals. Developed 3-year strategy for personal computing and collaboration, and implemented consistent, disciplined management of 25,000 PCs across North America. * Later, I led a change program to institute controls, technology, tools, and processes to enable automated Enterprise Content & Records Management in response to increased regulatory demands, and the need for improved internal controls.

I returned to the US in a global CIO role. I led all aspects of IT and managed over $70M in annual IT spending for a $2.2B strategic business unit. As a member of the global business team, I delivered value through targeted process improvement initiatives, developed a sales & marketing IT strategy and investment plan, and extended SAP to several countries, achieving 80% revenue managed through an integrated global ERP environment. Delivered year-over-year cost productivity, through demand management and sourcing optimization.

I accepted an expatriate assignment to gain international experience and perspective. The position was based in the UK and required frequent travel to other countries, especially Germany, France, and Switzerland.* Initially managed outsourced computing services for DuPont locations throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Built partnerships with service provider to increase value delivery, and led a complex remediation effort to improve compliance with disaster recovery policy.* Later assumed a European CIO role for the $500M Crop Protection business unit with several offices and manufacturing locations across the European region. As a member of the senior business leadership team, developed IT strategy and tactics to enable execution of market segment and supply chain strategies. Managed staff and budget to deliver tactics in support of IT strategy.

The early years of my career included several formative experiences where I established a reputation as a decisive leader with excellent relationship and communication skills.* Moved quickly from initial technical to first-level supervisory roles, while gaining broad IT experience in personal computing, telecommunications, collaboration, and applications supporting sales, marketing, and supply chain. * Managed large and small projects, including construction of first fiber optic network on office campus.* Managed transition to outsourced model across six large North American manufacturing sites.* Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate direct reports and diverse global teams.
