Fuzzy TableWorked with a team of 6 engineers to build a distributed low latency database for fuzzy matching. Built using HDFS for data storage, Hadoop for batch processing, Avro for network communication and data serialization, and Mahout for performing distributed data cleansing, clustering, and classification. My focus was on data clustering and classification. Major focused was placed integrating different security practices such as digital signatures for xml and encryption for email into the Java software stack. Created web services using CXF. Developed applications to validate against different schema standards and XML transformations including Relax-NG, Schematron, and XSLT. Integrated these technologies into an Enterprise Service Bus.Protein Alignment (NIH)Worked with a team to parallelize the Smith-Waterman algorithm for protein alignment.
