My duties as Music Director at DMA were to establish instructional goals and implement plans that both taught the concepts of music education, appreciation, history, and performance as well as connected with core education components. Often instructional design included cross curricular education addressing math, science, reading with concentrations in history and culture, and writing. Much of this was also infused with a moral focus geared toward leadership development.

On four campuses of the private school entity, along with the performance venues chosen, I assisted with the instruction, management, and counseling of hundreds of 3rd-8th students. I particular focused attention to the instrumental programming, yet assisting with vocal and general production as well rounded out several duties. One of the more prominent factors was working with parents, teachers, and administrators to be sure connections were made to community resources, local public and private high schools, as well as vendors and sponsors for student growth and participation. Hosting master classes, guiding student mentoring, and hosting guest clinicians was a great asset to this organization. Working with college students who were becoming teachers as well proved exceptionally rewarding during this time. Serving urban families in a private setting was a unique thrill and showed me yet other ways to manage the demands of financing, supporting, and being beneficial to a community with great demands and few resources.

I worked with Chosen ministry concentrating on middle school aged youth in mentoring and leadership training. I was also involved with learning lesson planning from a biblical perspective, yet this was very closely aligned with traditional educational instructional planning as well.I also served with "My Father's Business"​ ministry in working with entrepreneur's starting and growing new businesses within the surrounding community.

I served with distinction in grade levels 3 through 12 as an instrumental music specialist, general music, appreciation and history instructor, choir and drama specialist. During this time, I also served on text-book adoption and correspondence committees. I participated in the formulation of honors ensembles at the elementary level, co-lead county-wide Pops Orchestras at multiple levels, mentored young leaders, conducted tutoring in math and reading, created business clubs, and interacted with several community groups including, but not limited to Scouts, churches, county political organizations and local businesses.
