With over 20 years of experience in the music industry, I’m a seasoned professional with a proven track record of success.I began my career as a dancer for the independent label Mecca Life, where I worked with the Aboriginals and BOYN (Brothers of a Young Nation). As a collective, we opened up for iconic acts such as the Notorious B.I.G., The Fugees, Run DMC, KRS One and more.I soon transitioned from being onstage to working off stage with Untertainment Records in a promotions and marketing capacity. While there, I assisted with the release of Cam’ron’s debut album Confessions of Fire, Charli Baltimore’s project and The Woo Movie Soundtrack.Having found my niche, I landed a role at Jive Records and worked on projects for Brittany Spears, NSYNC, R. Kelly, Backstreet Boys and more. My success at Jive led to a bigger role at Sony/Red, where I spent 15 years, later merging with Sony/The Orchard. In that span, I’ve contributed to projects by DJ Khaled, Joey Bada$$, Run the Jewels, Nas, BTS, Bad Bunny and so many more.Though many of my duties at The Orchard have been in a digital and technical capacity, my passion for the creative aspect of music has never wavered. Owning and operating my own multi-media consulting company (Whatevaok Ent), I have worked with, consulted and distributed music for a bevy of artists and labels including Tech N9ne, Berry Gordy, Skee lo, Jodeci, Prodigy of Mobb Deep and Twista to name a few.In a nutshell, my knowledge base is rooted in artist services mixed with extensive new technology experience. Usually, these two worlds never meet but I have been able to operate seamlessly in both spaces. This often makes me a uniquely integral part of whatever projects that I am involved in.Currently, I’m the Sr. Director of Content Management and Release Planning at The Orchard. In this role, I am responsible for overseeing the Content Management and Release Planning departments, updating current processes and creating new ones as needed, liaising with technology, quality control, and operations departments on needs and improvements, working closely with an assigned group of NY based label managers and directly with my roster of distributed labels on content management needs, managing assigned rosters’ audio and video digital product logistics and operations; ensuring digital content is delivered in a timely manner and to required specifications using Orchard and Sony Music Entertainment’s technology systems; as well as assisting label managers in physical product management.
