In eight years, he rose to be president of the firm and was subsequently named CEO. During his 15 years as CEO and Chairman of the Board, Lamar led the company as it grew to serve more than 1 million clients in 300,000 families; oversaw more than $18 billion in invested assets and $52 billion in life insurance in force; and chartered one of the first banks in the country focused on service via the Internet. During Lamar’s tenure as a senior corporate leader, the company’s annual revenues more than quadrupled from $48 million to $225 million and profits grew from $6 million to $31 million.Improving Your BalanceIn 2007, Lamar began a full-time commitment to developing and sharing the concepts he has learned about empowered living through Improving Your Balance, while continuing to serve on corporate boards and to be actively involved in a number of charitable and outreach organizations.
