Responsible for processes, methods and tools definition in System R&D software engineering team.Alstom Grid is a world leader in electric network management. The System R&D in which I work is developing and maintaining software applications for high-voltage sub-station automation and monitoring. The company (Alstom Grid Protection and Control) has just been created in the beginning of 2011, and is the result of the acquisition and split of Areva T&D between Alstom and Schneider Electrics.The new R&D department is ramping up very fast in a distributed organisation pattern, in 4 locations: Massy-Palaiseau (FR), Montpellier (FR), New Dehli (India) and Stafford (UK) and is also outsourcing part of the development to distributed external companies in India and France.At the head of a team of 3, I’m responsible of the following activities:• Define the software lifecycle processes, based on CMMI and Agile best practices, in compliance with the ISO-9001 certified quality system• Ensure the efficiency of the interfaces with operation, support and marketing processes• Monitor process execution and assess the level of compliance / adoption in the teams• Ensure change management• Benchmark and select appropriate tools to support the defined processes• Configure and administer selected tools• Define KPIs and ensure they are produced

Process Modeling with MEGA, world-wide studies and audits.• Responsible for benchmarking and constructing the solutions in each domain.• Technical studies and installation of Jira in collaboration with IBM.• Writing of documentation and training materials, train the trainers, train the pioneers projects.• Responsible for the international roll-out of the solutions (France, Spain, UK, USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, China, Singapore, Philippines, Japan, Thailand) and migration of the former processes and tools.

World-wide level 3 support.• Definition of methods (procedures, standards, recommendations) and tools for Michelin Corporation, in the context of CMM/CMMI certification.• Roll-out of corporate methods and tools, technical deployment of Rational ClearCase in Europe, Asia and USA. Migration of the former processes and tools. 30 development teams trained and supported, 6 servers installed world-wide.• ClearQuest roll-out on pilot projects• Training materials writing, training of users and trainers.• Consultant on ALM processes and related organization for the Michelin "Business Solutions" platforms (requirements, software change, configuration management, build and continuous integration, release management, applications deployment); definition / writing of Software Configuration Management Plans. Dedicated or generic toolkits developments according to the projects’ needs.

In an ITIL context, during Michelin IT outsourcing to IBM, I was responsible for the configuration management of 34 Oracle Application instances with hundreds of software components and middleware configurations, providing a single point of contact between release managers, functional testers, developers, IT engineers and level 2 OAP help desk. Trained to Oracle Application, DB admin and UNIX systems, I administered the complete OAP environments in a level 3 technical team. I learned a lot in a fun and challenging high tech environment made of 200 hard core professionals and state-of-the-art technologies.I developed a complete QA, CM and deployment suite (including a PL/SQL intranet on iAS) based on Kintana Deliver (aka Mercury IT Governance), ClearCase, ClearQuest and several lines of Perl and KShell scripts.I was a full member of the QA network and actively participated to the CMMI appraisal of the platform, just before joining the corporate CMMI roll-out team.

As part of a continuing education contract with Michelin, I started my career as a software analyst and developer in SEAM, an high-tech mechanic and robotic research department of Michelin group.I spent the first year within the design department to roll-out a KM tool for supplier documentation, and helped for the deployment of Autocad and the new PLM system.Then I held a technical assistant position in a general studies and QA team, mainly centered on QA statistics, project / resource management and project accounting, using Excel / MSP / Access.Eventually I developed several VB / Oracle applications for process QA (defects on machines, parts and nomenclatures management) and administration (activity tracking, tire tests catalog and capacity planning, project capacity planning and reporting).
