Jason Lamb is a technology transfer professional and experienced IP attorney, systems architect, and programmer. Jason has over 20 years of experience in programming and systems design/integration and brings 7+ years of experience in IP & business law, technology transfer, commercialization, and open-source software due diligence. He also has a wealth of entrepreneurial experience including startup operations (strategy and business operations), value proposition and business model development, and early-stage venture formation, funding, & governance. Jason recently joined HPE as Technology Transfer Strategist within the Intellectual Property Licensing group and manages the technology transfer function: including identifying and evaluating viable technologies, finding third party partners for productization and commercialization, and licensing and transferring technology into the marketplace.Prior to joining HPE Jason served as Senior Licensing Associate at NC State University where he managed a diverse portfolio of 100+ technologies including innovations in power semiconductor devices/systems, machine learning systems/architecture, virtual/augmented reality, and exclusively managed all software, database and data technologies licensed out of the university (including open-source software management). There he developed and managed several tech transfer pipelines including two Engineering Research Centers: the PowerAmerica Institute (Dept of Energy – Wide bandgap semiconductors) and the FREEDM Systems Center (NSF – Electric grid modernization and renewable energy). Jason’s efforts resulted in sustained successes with about 3-5 startups launched and about 10 commercial agreements executed per year.Jason Lamb holds academic degrees in engineering (BS Computer Engr – Drexel University 2001) and law (JD Temple University 2013; LL.M. Law and Entrepreneurship – Duke University 2014), is a registered Patent Attorney, and is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.Jason is married and has a sixteen-year-old daughter and fourteen-year-old son. His interests include international travel (in love with the Caribbean), community service and volunteering, pro sports (Go Eagles, Sixers, Phillies, and Flyers!), Sci-Fi and fantasy movies/TV (both a Star Trek and Star Wars fan; Game of Thrones seasons 1-6 only!), entrepreneurship, and emerging technologies (blockchain, augmented reality, quantum computing).
