Ophthalmic Technician
Assist physicians in patient care on multiple levels. Perform technical workups, including taking patient histories and documenting in patient records. Perform pre-testing of patient including lensometry, autorefraction and keratometry along with other ophthalmic diagnostic tests (visual fields, OCT scans of various parts of the eye, corneal topography, and fundus camera testing). Assist with minor procedures in office including lasers, intraocular injections, and minor surgeries. Scribe and assist ophthalmologist with patient exam. Instruct patients on eye care, eye diseases, and medications in routine exams and post cataract and/or eyelid surgeries.E-scribe medications and assists with pre-certifying medicines and procedures, i.e., YAG capsulotomy, peripheral iridotomy, and Durysta intracameral implant.Assist oculoplastic surgeon in multiple cosmetic procedures, i.e., Botox, Xeomin, Sculptra, Radiese filler and earlobe repair.
