Co-chair planning a leadership conference for over 1100 UBC community leader delegates in January 2010 to create dialogue and action in the leadership community; I co-led a team of 32 to plan every aspect of the conference from logistics and programming to promotions and sponsorship to ensure an impactful experience for planning team and delegates

• Schizophrenia researcher who helped to establish a biochemistry platform for prioritization of drug discovery targets to improve cognition in schizophrenia using Western blotting, in-cell Westerns, ELISAs and cell cultures• Research led to published article in Neuropharmacology

A Science student development group promoting leadership, academic, and science-related events around UBC

• Led/mentored the Student Ambassador Council (SAC, consisting of high school students), setting a long-term direction for them and guiding their initiatives to train new Student Ambassadors, raise funds, and raise awareness for KHP; the SAC leads over 400 Vancouver Student Ambassadors• Initiated and established an interview process to select members for the SAC• Led organization of networking/social events and all-day training conference for SAC members• Recognized the need for SAC to connect with existing KHP clubs and to start new clubs, thus creating a new Outreach Director position; enhanced SAC communication by creating pbwiki site • Initiated and oversaw the SAC Awareness, Fundraising, and Outreach Committees to engage Student Ambassadors in developing more events and initiatives

Managed four Program Coordinators to collectively create the entire conference program for over 1100 student leaders; program components included selecting the keynote, recruiting sixteen big-name community members as featured presenters in a variety of fields, recruiting and selecting student/staff/faculty workshops for the conference, inviting organizations to join the Lunchtime Opportunities Fair, and designing new opportunities for the conference
