Hunger Solutions and New Jersey Food Security Initiative ensuring alignment with the broader organizational mission. Developing and implementing strategies to advance policy and advocacy priorities at the state level, including action plans that respond to local needs.Cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders such as government agencies, nonprofits, and community organizations to enhance advocacy efforts and program outcomes.

Provide leadership on eradicating hunger and poverty in Washington, D.C. by building relationships with community partners, government agencies and District leadership.Provide leadership on fundraising and development; generate financial support by managing the operational budget to match priorities and funding. Spearhead advocacy efforts assuring policies and practices of District agencies represent the needs of families and individuals experiencing low-income.Oversee efforts increasing access to federal nutrition programs by families and individuals, community-based organizations, service providers, schools, childcare providers, and others in the District.Guide the development of information and tools such as reports, policy briefs, guides, etc.Design and implement strategic plans providing hands-on technical assistance, outreach and direct service effectively address food and nutrition insecurity in District of Columbia.Serve as representative voice in coalitions and grass-roots efforts focused on addressing poverty, hunger, health and nutrition across the District of Columbia.

Actively increase participation and improve benefits of the federal child nutrition programs (WIC, National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, Summer Food Service Program, Child and Adult Food Care Program).Conduct advocacy, research, coalition-building, outreach, technical assistance, public education and program monitoring.Develop legislation in support of federal funding used to address hunger and poverty in D.C.Establish partnerships with community based organizations maximizing reach in D.C.Conduct technical assistance with organizations on federal child nutrition programs increasing overall participation.Analyze data and conduct research in support of federal child nutrition programming.Serve as Co-Chair of Food Research Action Center REDI Committee working to ensure internal and external organizational goals are aligned and support inclusivity, diversity and racial equity.

Charged with monitoring compliance of purchases made utilizing funds allocated by the Child and Adult Food Care Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).Analyze food, program and purchasing policies related to operation and administration of the Summer Food Service and Child and Adult Food Care Programs.Create a network of producers in support of building equitable food systems.Draft technical assistance handbooks and manuals, toolkits, community food implementation plans and guidance materials to ensure satisfactory understanding of purchasing principles according to federal, state and local guidelines/regulations.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on developing goals, strategies and activities related to promoting initiatives expanding access to unprocessed, farm fresh foods in CACFP and SFSP meal service. Collaborate with the Training Unit to develop specialized training and resources for building a just food systems in early childhood.Develop relationships with community partners, vendors and suppliers advocating for the use of local foods to child care centers, after school programs as well as summer meal sites and sponsors.Work in partnership with Nutrition Services’ Marketing and Outreach Manager on dissemination of resources and information highlighting the benefits of purchasing locally sourced products in early care and education settings.

Oversee government purchasing schedule ensuring effective new product implementation and competitive pricing structures are in place. Measure and track customer and vendor performance by utilizing cross-functional database to determine how to best increase customer sales while minimizing internal spending. Facilitate single and multi-source RFQ/RFP requests for commercial and non-commercial clientele.Maintain customer and vendor relationships while sourcing new opportunities to expand business opportunities.Negotiate commodity pricing in order to effectively create a tailored procurement strategy for growing customer base. Manage vendor database updating line card information and broker listings in order to provide best sourcing strategies.

Design and implement curriculum tailored for student comprehension, retention and academic success.Network with community partners and educational leaders to increase program participation and influence.Advise and prepare students for higher education/post-secondary career while adhering to strict confidentiality and ethical standards.Assess program effectiveness and efficiency utilizing data driven outcome analysis.
