I'm co-founder of a small Systems Administration consulting company focusing on high-volume, large installations. With aggressive monitoring and trending, we can quickly isolate performance problems and solve them in a lasting manner. We also have a great deal of experience streamlining existing operations, moving between datacenters/hosting providers, and generally end up saving our customers to get a ROI inside of 2 or 3 months through reduced operations costs.

Migrated a top 10 (at the time) facebook game from their cloud-based hosting to a custom cage we built out for them. It took us exactly one month from hire to go-live in the new cage (on hardware we purchased and setup for them) and instantly saved them $40k a month going forward. As of this writing, 3 years later, they are still running on that hardware and we continue to occasionally provide support.

I managed and worked on the team of 2-3 sysadmins that kept www.shockwave.com, www.atomfilms.com and www.addictinggames.com running for nearly 8 years. I was sad to leave such a talented team, but after we got bought by Viacom in late 2006, I realized that I wanted to work for a small company again.

I started as part of a team of contract sysadmins but was quickly hired and worked for years on HEAT, the pc gaming network. Eventually I moved to the Dreamcast side to become the lead sysadmin on the next generation gaming network for the Sega Dreamcast console.
