1) I am a biology student interested in human genetics, immunology, and cell biology.2) I was born and grew up in Vietnam. I had worked in the Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ho Chi Minh City for two years before moving to the United States. Experiences working in the medical field taught me the geographic exclusion of developing countries from the access to gene therapies. I am passionate about making genetic testing techniques, genetic counseling, and gene therapies more accessible.3) Volunteering in different environments such as hospitals, food banks, and remote communities has honed my communication skills. I have practiced active listening, conveyed respect, and always kept an open mind.4) I love studying foreign languages during my spare time to do better in my jobs and maintain friendships.5) Three words that describe me are compassion, ambition, and persistence.
