Clinical Training Coordinator
CurrentResponsible for management, coordination, and success of AHEC efforts in clinical training within 31 county region: • Work closely with medical and physician assistant programs to assess clinical training needs and to coordinate and manage clinical training experiences for students accordingly. • Establish new clinical training sites and maintain relationships with current sites. • Develop and implement strategies to provide adequate housing for students during their clinical experiences and ensure scheduling is coordinated appropriately by the Student Support Coordinator. • Provide the timely disbursement of travel stipends to students and ensure that adequate records are maintained. Serve as a liaison between academic programs, preceptors/sites, and students to ensure a quality educational experience that meets curriculum guidelines: • Orient students to the community where clinical training is taking place and make site visits during rotations to ensure an exceptional experience for both the student and preceptor. • Provide an overview of the AHEC mission and function in the form of presentations to schools, preceptors, professional organizations, and community programs. • Provide information to students on available loan and scholarship information, including National Health Service Corps.Coordinate and schedule all clinical rotations for medical and physician assistant students at NGHS. • Facilitate credentialing for medical and physician assistant students rotating through NGHS entities in collaboration with the NGMC Graduate Medical Education Coordinator.Manage documentation and duties of the Student Support Coordinator: • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of activities resulting from and related to the position are produced. • Oversee the data entry of activities specified in the AHEC Data Management System. • Ensure that proper documentation is kept and that the job duties of the Student Support Coordinator are carried out.
