About Lana Penrose

Counsellor and author, Lana Penrose's early incarnations included promotions manager, journalist, television producer and personal assistant to Darren Hayes of Savage Garden. Her writing career began with music publications in Melbourne and London where she worked at BMG (briefly alongside Simon Cowell). She became a qualified counsellor in 2015. Lana's television career began when she accepted a senior producer position with MTV, scriptwriting and producing MTV News, as well as interviewing the illustrious and not-so-illustrious of the rock & pop world. She moved to Athens in 2000 and authored acclaimed bestseller "To Hellas & Back"​ released through Penguin/Viking in October 2007, which reached #2 on the Bookscan Top 10.Her second book "Kickstart My Heart"​ was released in 2009 and mini-memoir "Addicted to Love"​ in 2013. "The Happiness Quest"​ was released in February 2015, receiving a five-star review from "Books & Publishing"​, and celebrity endorsement from actor/comedian Celia Pacquola. Her fifth book "Conversations with Blob - A Guide to Spiritual Living in a World Gone Mad" was released in December 2021 through Blue Angel (Australia) /Llewellyn Publishing (USA).Lana has appeared on breakfast television (The Morning Show and 9AM) and she's featured in Madison, Cleo, Famous, Vogue, Woman’s Day, That’s Life, The Australian, Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, Melbourne Herald Sun, ABC radio (including Radio National and 702), WS FM, 2UE, Mix FM, Triple M and more. She appeared on stage as part of the Darren Hayes "Big Night In"​ tour throughout the UK, Ireland, Sydney and Thailand and is featured on a DVD release through Village Roadshow. She was also a guest speaker on four panels at the prestigious 2009 Byron Bay Writers’ Festival and at the Mind & Its Potential conference in late 2015.Having received her counselling diploma through AIPC and volunteering with Lifeline and beyondblue, today Lana is employed as a counsellor, such is her burning desire to assist others and share the love. In April 2016, she contributed a chapter to "Transformation - Turning Tragedy Into Triumph", edited by Dr Tim Sharp.
