Hired as the organization’s first employee to develop a strong organizational capacity in an uncertain climate of receptivity to green building and sustainability strategies. Overcame the objections by fostering organizational excellence through relationship building, “friend raising”, promoting environmental sustainability standards, two-to-six education and training activities per month, collaborative partnerships, continuous fundraising and brand-building. Developed, edited, and photographed innovative Membership Directory published by McGraw-Hill. Developed supportive relationships with a variety of engineering and architectural firms, other private sector companies, union representatives, city and county government leaders, trade associations, and the general public.Working with corporation general counsel, developed internal employee policy manual, conflict of interest protocols, and trained the Board of Directors and Staff as to implementation.
