My name is Lance Anthony and I am a Senior at White Plains High School. I am an aspiring lawyer who loves performing, reading, and bagels!I have served as the Co-President of the WPHS Class of 2025 since freshman year, and have led our committee to raise $16,000+ for class events and trips through fundraising and outreach. Also, I have recently co-founded the Community Service Initiative for my class to volunteer at local organizations. I find joy in bringing joy to my class with the events we organize! I love being in my school’s Science Research Program where I am examining minority turnout in voting with voter ID restrictions.I am part of many youth advocacy councils, like the Westchester County Youth Council and the Youth Empowerment Council for Change. Through WCYC, I lead a Domestic Violence Prevention workshop, using what I learned with my time at My Sister’s Place (Non-Profit), and a Mental/Physical Health Workshop at the 2022 Youth Action Training. Through YECC, I spoke to our County Executive & team about addressing concerns us youth have in our county. As I listen to my fellow youth speak, I realize that I love my time with these councils and the opportunities they offer.I am an active member of the YMCA Youth and Government (YAG) Program, having been an attorney for 2 years, and now a justice! I love my YAG family more than words can explain!I applied, and am now a student, in Columbia Law School’s Free High School Law Institute, where I get to immerse myself in the realm of Criminal and Constitutional Law on a deeper level that I could never do at my school. This has also reassured me that a career in law is what I strive for.Musical theatre and performing are huge passions of mine! I have been in 15+ shows since 6th grade, and I’m grateful to have made my Off-Broadway Debut in Camp Rock with Kota Productions, and most recently performed in NYC’s Lyrics for Life Benefit where we raised money for Suicide Prevention. Along with theatre, I am a self-taught Bollywood Dancer (since 5 years old), and have performed and choreographed all across the tristate area. Indian dance has brought me to cherish my cultural heritage and also spread my love for it to school, where I am President of the Bollywood Dance Group. Finally, I love spoken-word poetry, being a 2-Year NYS Finalist in the Poetry Out Loud Competition. To summarize, I live, eat, and breathe the arts!Last, but certainly not least, I work at Playa Bowls! Working in food/customer service has taught me so many valuable lessons including what hard work is and why patience is key!
