Under my leadership, the overall injury frequency rate was reduced by 10%, $172,000 in cost reductions implemented and no OSHA citations were received, which has never been achieved before.

Worked with Plant Managers to create yearly objectives and actions plans for achievement. Direct reports included 10 union and management personnel. Under my leadership, the total injury rate was reduced by 68% to achieve the lowest rate in the plant’s history. In addition, no OSHA complaints or citations were received and every safety record the plant facility has ever held was broken. The plant’s overall corporate standing improved from 17th place out of 18 facilities to number 2.

Steel 2002 - 2003Responsible for the Steel Producing Spares complex, which included the ordering, receiving, maintenance and delivery of spare parts for the Steel Producing Division. Supervised 16 personnel, which included maintenance technicians, equipment operators and expeditors. The complex consisted of 7 warehouse buildings (379,450 square feet), with overhead cranes and mobile equipment. Under my leadership, there were no injuries in the department, $169,150 in cost savings implemented, manpower was reduced by 31% and productivity was increased by 17%.

Maintenance Supervisor, Psm CoordinatorU. S. Steel 2001 - 2002Responsible for maintenance of the Steel Producing Propane Facility and insuring its compliance with OSHA’s Process Safety Management (PSM) standard. In addition, maintaining production equipment for various units located in the facility’s #2 Q-BOP. Under my leadership, there were no injuries in my unit, 500 potential OSHA violations were identified and corrected, and maintenance equipment reliability was improved from 72% to 95%.
