I started off in the warehouse as a helper to start learning about the parts used in the industry. I would pull parts to restock the technicians truck from previous jobs they did to replace their inventory. Would deliver parts and new equipment to the technicians job site. After about six months I was moved out of the warehouse to the field as an apprentice. I got my plumbing apprentices license so I could him the technicians with the jobs they were on. They helped train my on plumbing & hvac work. I started my apprenticeship in 2004 at the local community college. I finished my schooling in 2008. As a second year apprentice, I was moved into my own truck. I start running my own calls and do all the work that I sold. I did residential and commercial plumbing jobs from installing toilets, faucets, main water lines, sewer lines, drain cleaning, boilers and water heaters etc. Started running HVAC service calls because they thought I knew hvac. My dad worked there and he knew hvac so I think they thought I did. No complaints for me. We were responsible for keep our inventory up and correct on the truck and all the tools. We would have to do inventory every year on the trucks. Went through sales training and was responsible of selling the jobs we were dispatched to and communicating with the customer. Would collect payment for job and turn it into the office. If equipment was need to perform the job we coordinated the rental, return of the equipment and all paperwork for that job. I got my plumbing apprenticeship, EPA 608 and RMGA Certification in less then a year of being employed by the company.
