CurrentManage the Met’s Special Officer program, to include training and development of Special Officers. Analyze and neutralize potential threats and hostile activities, both overtly and covertly, before they materialize. Duties include managing Special Officers and Special Officer Candidates, conducting investigations, providing executive protection, delivering security awareness training, and overseeing loss prevention efforts. Lead, guide, and support Special Officers and Candidates, fostering a professional and well-trained team. Responsibilities also include protecting the Museum's invaluable art collection and ensuring the safety of staff, volunteers, and visitors. Facilitate Museum wide security awareness training, to include active shooter training.Perform high-level covert & overt executive protection, planning, and logistical support for dignitaries, VIPs, and local/state/federal/world leaders while maintaining a low-profile. Provide real-time information and support to the Security Intelligence Units.Implementation of SOPs for all protection activities. Carry a firearm for de-escalation and defensive purposes. Respond to all emergency situations and aiding in critical incident management. Identify, monitor, record details of suspicious behaviors and patterns by unknown individuals, to include unusual or prolonged interest in the Museum's Security Programs. Mitigate escalated behavior through proactive and effective communication skills and techniques, both verbal and non-verbal. Act as the liaison to local law enforcement and other government agencies.
