Served in the USMC as a Data Processing\Communications Officer for over 23 years and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. I was responsible for testing and implementing 5 Simple Mail Transfer Protocol gateways providing worldwide email for 25,000 + users. Led a team of Marines that planned, engineered and implemented Parris Island’s first Local Area Network. Co-Authored the Navy-Marine Corps Vision for the 21st Century “Copernicus” signed by the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the Chief of Naval Operations.

Served as the Lead Information Systems Engineer for MITRE, a federally funded research not for profit organization that works in the public interest across all levels of government, industry and academia. MITRE combines applied science and systems engineering to provide SMEs to define the right problems and create solutions. I supported Headquarters Marine Corps C4 in identifying and solving technical issues concerning the Defense Message Systems. I wrote a $10M supplement request to congress to purchase hardware and software to consolidate 20 DMS sites to 4 centralized locations and received approval improving the technical DMS solution and saving the USMC millions of dollars.

Our clients included the Defense Information Systems Agency, USMC, FEMA, the Military Traffic Management Command and the Census Bureau.
