As produce manager my role is split between Bayfarms, NZ Gold Kiwifruit Company and Trevelyan’s; working to increase value to our growers. Bayfarms is our local market distribution focused on quality and consistency, driven by improving grower returns and building market share across the country. We have embarked on selling Avocados on line through www.bayfarms.net.nz and have enjoyed playing a role in its successNZ Golden Kiwifruit Co. was established in March 2015 to consolidate Class 2 gold kiwifruit across 12 packhouses for supply into the New Zealand market in a co-ordinated and controlled manner. Communicating with the sites planning the volumes, working with marketers implement an allocation system and organise transport for delivery. Role includes updating the board regularly, manage the P&L and cashflow accountability. Under the Trevelyans umbrella I have been tasked with the non-standard supply of all products, in other words find a home at good value for all product that has not been exported.

Kenya

Progress is the Dutch Flower Group's operational office in Africa. DFG has over Euro 1 billion in turnover in flower and plants the world over. Responsible for a team of 20 personal in technical, supply chain & procurement. Successfully maintained the long term sustainable business relationships with growers and customers.

Naivasha

Mavuno is a Dutch Owned company with an operational office in Africa, Progress. Responsible for sourcing of product for the various marketing outlets whilst meeting all technical certification and specifications. Developed and expanded the grower supply base to a larger network through improved volume planning, increased grower certification and better quality management.

Zambia

Khal Amazi is Southern Africa's largest rose grower. Developed "Packed at Source" systems to supply product to UK & European retail multiples as well as establish sales for the 200 million+ stems per annum. Achieved MPS GAP & SOCIAL, ETI & BOPP certification for the farm. Introduced bar-coding at source for full traceability from greenhouse to consumer.

Kenya

Africa's premier flower farm with over 200 hectares, exporting a million stems a day. Successfully built and developed a strong sales and supply chain team to market all the product all year round. Developed grower relationships throughout East Africa to supply into the Mavuno network.
