From a young age, I learned to care about the lives of the people and nature around me. Joining cleanup drives, tree-planting activities, and community outreaches showed me that the modern world faced many problems from climate change to poverty and inequality. However, these experiences also taught me that these problems weren't unsolvable.With today's rapid progression of industry and technology, it's becoming increasingly important to anchor ourselves in understanding and solidarity. Progress should come with integrity and care for our community and environment. I believe that it is my mission as a chemical engineer to work to that end, a future where we ensure that everyone wins, even nature.In my undergraduate years, I honed my technical skills as an engineer including environmental research methods like Material Flow Analysis & Life Cycle Assessment (MFA & LCA). I honed my leadership capabilities through heading various programs and even founding a sustainable energy organization in UP Diliman. I also learned how to design educational events, bridging the gap between technical experts and everyday people. I've been able to further develop these skills at my current role at ECI as I help to design and execute training seminars for lay people in understanding technical topics like pollution control and waste management/treatment. Through this, I've already helped increase environmental awareness in almost 100 everyday FIlipinos.If any of this interests you, let's talk!
