About Lance Egan

I spent eight intense, but incredible years in the U.S. Air Force where I learned the importance of positive collaboration based relationships and continual process improvement in some of the most challenging environments around the world. Now I spend my time applying that same mentality to the tech side of the world doing whatever I can to promote a DevSecOps mindset that is built on defining a goal, (MVP) minimal viable product based iterative planning, continual process improvement and proactive work efforts that have proven to prevent project delays and production issues, while also minimizing organizational costs.

    • I have spent most of my time in this position proving that you can lead without authority. I am the leading developer in promoting more automation wherever possible and improving code quality using tools like SonarQube and Artifactory Xray. I continually push for maintaining a higher standard of project planning with thorough support documentation and a strong focus on security vulnerabilities that we can mitigate, while also championing the need for sharing what we learn as a team so we can all improve. • Through multiple projects in addition to knowledge transfers and leading several lunch and learn sessions, I have proven that a culture shift is possible with regards to improving processes, our code quality and lines of communication between our teams, without increasing our organizational costs.• After completing Amazon AWS training, I was able to work with architecture, security, middleware and my development team in creating new standards for how we develop from the start of an idea to pushing to production. Always considering worst case scenarios, I was able to alert our teams to multiple security vulnerabilities including exposed variables, inefficient logs and exposed GitHub directories. • Created a pure Java based POC application for our Practice Management department in order to assist their customers with financial trend analysis. The business users were beyond impressed with how IS can ease their customer experience and drastically reduce the learning curve for new users to their processes. • After completing MuleSoft training, I immediately put my skills to use as part of a very small team where we were able to complete a solution that further enhanced a custom product knowledgebase. While the previous version was open to 55 people and used over 101,000 times in the 2018, the new iteration is open to over 600 staff, providing real time product information to users around the company.
